About the Owner

Chef D (Derek Nichols) here. Since an early age, I have enjoyed spicy foods and had a knack for coming up with new recipes based on whatever I thought would taste good. My mom always made me feel like I had the freedom to create whatever I wanted in the kitchen. In college, I spent about 2 and a half years working in a restaurant as a line cook which helped me refine my culinary skills.

Like many folks during the corona-virus pandemic in 2020, I decided to try out a new hobby and began making fermented hot sauces recreationally. Over the course of 4 years, I honed my craft and started receiving incredibly positive feedback on my hot sauces from friends and family. In January of 2024 I decided to start a legitimate business to sell my hot sauces to the general public.
